acupuncture works.

what often doesn’t work is how much it costs.

So, at Well Collab, we decided to change the entire model of our business so that regular acupuncture treatments could be within financial reach for more people.

Our Public Acupuncture model offers the same deeply restorative treatment that you might expect of us privately, but this time it’s in a shared, calm space:

six recliners, one acupuncturist, and a collective exhale.

Every session is tailored to you.

You’ll complete a private written intake once you sit down in your private recliner, so your acupuncturist can design a treatment specific to your needs.

Stress, sleep, pain, digestion, hormones, pain management, just because you like it?

Come as you are. Leave regulated.

(We still have private offerings, most notably our Signature Feminist Facial and our emotionally restorative Integration sessions.)

Q: What’s the difference between Public and Private acupuncture?

Living room with exposed brick wall, framed quote, and round decorative mirrors. Four armchairs with purple slipcovers and plush blankets, side tables, and a fluffy white rug.

A: Public sessions are held in a shared room with six recliners, and intakes are done via HIPAA compliant written intakes.

You can share as much or as little information as you want, but know that part of what makes this work is that the room, as a shared healing space, is quiet. Your overall time commitment is also shorter: though the time you are receiving the acupuncture treatment is the same as a private session, we don’t spend time doing a verbal intake. Expect to be back out the door 45 minutes after you sit in your seat.

I’m in! Sign me up for Public • Never mind, take me back to the private options

Q: what should I wear?

Living room with a yellow bookshelf wall, gray armchairs with blankets, red tablecloth-covered tables, and circular rugs.

A: whatever you’re comfortable in!

We often need access from knees down to toes and elbows down to fingers. That being said, we have an in-suite bathroom where you are more than welcome to change if you arrive in clothing that leaves your body largely inaccessible.

Q: Do I need to talk during treatment?

Close-up of large green plant leaves with a brick wall and a yellow and white sign in the background.

A: Not at all.

We actually prefer you don’t! The room is quiet and restful and for you to share with up to 5 other people. This is where the written intake is instrumental: your intake covers what the acupuncturist needs to know. If there are follow up questions, we make sure to keep our voices low and unobtrusive.

Q: what if I fall asleep or snore?

A yellow bookshelf with two shelves filled with books and a potted plant with dark green leaves. On the top shelf, there is a small pink mug with a plant inside and a string of small fairy lights. The background shows a brick wall.

A: this is actually perfect!

This means your nervous system is letting go (and if someone is lightly snoring then it usually means someone else isn’t far behind!).

Q: I take medication. can I still do acupuncture?

A yellow bookshelf with a row of books on top, including titles like 'The Tao of Inner Peace', 'The Body Electric', and 'Make Yourself at Home'. To the right, a small, round, orange and green pumpkin sits on the shelf. In the reflection of a mirror behind, a brick wall and a round orange lampshade are visible, with a small potted plant and white ceramic decorative objects on the yellow surface below.

A: absolutely.

Please make sure you’ve disclosed your medication list on your paperwork so your acupuncturist can tailor your session just for you.

Q: Can I come if I’m pregnant?

Cozy living room with gray recliners, round white rugs, a green bookshelf with decorations and books, window with blinds, a neon purple squiggly shape on the wall, and ceiling lights.

A: Chryssa actually specializes in fertility.

And even if our founder, Chryssa, isn’t the acupuncturist for your group, acupuncture is wonderful both to help get pregnant in addition to a helpful modality during pregnancy.

Q: do you take insurance?

A potted plant with green leaves on a green surface, with blurred background including a framed picture.

A: not for public.

Due to the specific requirements insurance companies have for billing, Public sessions cannot be billed through insurance (but you can use your FSA or HSA card). We also have Public priced in a way that allows more people to regularly access acupuncture treatment, regardless of insurance coverage.

Q: Is this a good place to start if I’m new to acupuncture?

A cozy living room with a brown couch covered with a beige blanket, a beige armchair with a beige blanket, and a round white rug on a wooden floor. There is a white bookshelf with various items and books, two windows with white blinds, and a neon purple art piece on the wall. The ceiling has textured tiles and three orange hanging lights.

A: Absolutely.

The shared space offers comfort, calm, and a low-pressure way to experience acupuncture for the first time.

if public acupuncture isn’t for you, we also offer traditional private acupuncture as well.

Establishing care through our Public Acupuncture arm of Well Collab is easy.

We have an extensive intake to make sure that we know what we’re treating you for and you have your expectations managed.

(For instance, we cannot accommodate treatments where you’re laying on your belly. Public Acupuncture is face up only, in one of our six recliners in our Public Acupuncture Room. If you are seeking care for something like chronic back pain, you might not be satisfied with the level of care we can provide through Public Acupuncture.)
