feminist facial

the in-person work.

Imitation may be the highest form of flattery, but at the end of the day, there’s only one Feminist Facial

This is the original Feminist Facial — the one with a cult following; the one that changes faces (and perspectives).

A deeply structural, emotionally attuned in-person treatment that blends facial acupuncture, fascia release, lymphatic flow, and ritual.

Known for its visible lift, remembered for how it makes you feel: unmasked, softened, and unmistakably yourself.

Face forward

the group work.

Join Chryssa twice a month (once in Dobbs Ferry, once in Ossining) to learn at home facial gua sha and massage techniques, designed to get you to know your unique facial anatomy in a way that cultivates a loving relationship with it rather than the combative and abrasive one we are led to believe we should have with our faces.

foundations

the at-home work.

This is where you learn to work with your own face through a better understanding of what shaped it.

Foundations is a self-paced course in structural facial repatterning through the five elements. It starts with a deep feminist re-education and goes on to include gua sha, facial exercises, and relaxation techniques.

You’ll be guided to feel, see, and support the systems beneath your skin, without falling into the trap of perfectionism or performance.

It’s not self-care. It’s structural repair, ritualized.

FAQ

What does acupuncture help?

Broadly, it helps each and every bodily system: circulatory, cardiovascular, digestive, excretory, endocrine, exocrine, integumentary, immune, lymphatic, muscular, nervous, renal, urinary, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal systems.

If you’re looking for more specifics, check out this page which has a detailed list from the World Health Organization on what acupuncture has been proven empirically to help with. Anecdotally, we have plenty of testimonials from satisfied customers, largely having to do with the life-changing manner in which acupuncture has affected them.

Do you offer any discounted treatments?

For some modalities not being submitted to insurance for reimbursement, we have packages of 5 and 10 at 15% and 20% discounts, respectively.

Packages expire 5 weeks after date of first usage.

Where do you stand on working with western medical practitioners?

Article 160, Section 821 1.1 (b) of NYS Education law requires any acupuncture professional to advise you to consult with your physician regarding the condition for which you are seeking acupuncture treatment.

But it’s not just Article 160. We think you should do this, too! We work in tandem with your doctors to provide you with the best possible healthcare, which means we are always encouraging of our clients to make sure they are seeking care for any and all medical concerns, and making sure they are taking advantage of all preventative screening that western medicine provides.

Each medicine has its strength and its blindspots and we aim to fill the spaces that allopathic medicine tends to leave, just as we cannot provide the bloodwork, imaging, and pharmaceutical scripts that your MD or DO can help you out with.

Do you take insurance?

As of September 1, 2024, we once again do in-house billing for any insurance plan that has out of network coverage that extends to acupuncture.

For benefits check, please book the appropriate “insurance-covered” appointment type. Alternatively, you can fill out this form.

Does acupuncture hurt?

The tools of our trade are indeed needles, but they’re not the needles of your doctor’s office. Some acupuncture is completely sensation free — people won’t even know their needles are in! — and other sessions are necessarily full of different sensations. Sometimes there is pain, but more often, it’s the sensation of the energy moving in your body. That can feel freeing, that can feel uncomfortable, that can feel curious. If it’s painful, always let us know.

What’s your cancellation policy?

As a a small and local business, we value our clients and aim to provide the highest quality of care. In addition to providing stellar treatments, we cultivate relationships.

In order to do maintain that balance, be a functioning business, and know we’re doing the best work we can, Well Collab Acupuncture strictly enforces its 48 hour cancellation and rescheduling policy.

If violated, you will be charged in full for your session. (If the appointment is a package appointment, it will be considered used; if the appointment was supposed to be covered by insurance, the card on file will be charged for a regular acupuncture appointment.)

In order to cancel or reschedule, we would need you to:

  1. utilize the cancel/reschedule option in your Jane patient portal or

  2. 48 or more hours prior to your appointment, call or text. If you don’t catch a human answering the phone, you must leave a message. We cannot assume that a missed call could be about a cancellation or rescheduling! As much as we appreciate that people think we practice magic, we actually don’t, and that means we also do not read minds. Bummer! or

  3. email us at hello@wellcollab.com

We aim to provide you with ample opportunity to reschedule or cancel prior to those 48 hours through automated email reminders and text messages!

Why a rescheduling policy?

Here’s an example: if a patient calls same day for a Monday appointment and reschedules to Friday (emergencies happen!) as per 48 hour rescheduling policy, but then cancels that Friday appointment online within 48 hours, then this is simply a workaround to the a same-day cancellation for the Monday appointment.

While the subsequent rescheduling doesn't violate the cancellation policy, it does violates the rescheduling policy.

We obviously have this in place for a reason! Thank you for understanding that while we love helping you in ways that sometimes make us feel more like an integral part of your world rather than business owners, we are still business owners and this is how we pay all our bills!
