frequently asked questions

  • We do not directly bill your insurance company, and are out of network with most major insurance companies. From there, it depends if you have acupuncture coverage in your individual contract.

Superbills are provided upon request but do not guarantee reimbursement. We do not submit claims, clinical notes, or additional documentation to insurance companies.

Our CPT code pricing is based on Fair Health Consumer average pricing for the zip code 10562.

  • You can find the varying prices per session here. Insurance payments vary per contract.

  • It shouldn’t! My young son remarks on how he says “Ow!” when the cat walks on him, even if it doesn’t hurt; I find this applies to acupuncture as well. If your very human response to a non-painful sensation is “ow,” we work with you on that because even if it doesn’t hurt, we don’t want you feeling uncomfortable.

  • That always depends on the person, condition, and circumstances surrounding both those things.. Acupuncture is also not a one-shot deal.

We live in a medical system that utilizes pharmaceuticals to mask or control symptoms: that’s just not a model that can be applied to acupuncture. I often liken appointments to learning a lesson, or personal training: each session layers on the last; coming at a reasonable cadence lets your body learn without overwhelm; some people are fast learners and some need constant guidance.

  • Public Acupuncture is the newest addition to the Well Collab menu: small group acupuncture at a more affordable price. You can lean more here.
