Put your glasses on.
Metal makes things particular enough to perceive. It distinguishes this from that, inside from outside, mine from yours, now from then. A boundary is form. A name is form. A schedule is form. A marriage is form. A diagnosis is form. A job description is form. A body is form. A rule is form. A room is form. A story about who you are is also form.
Form gives qi a here. And this is important: form is not the enemy. Without enough Metal, everything is everywhere. There is no reliable container through which anything can be encountered.
The reader's first practice should be incredibly simple: start spotting forms.
Not evaluating them. Not changing them. Not healing them. Just developing the perceptual capacity to say:
There. That's a form.
