Cosmetic Acupuncture

jump to our facials

Embodiment and cognitive health, but make it aesthetic.

We practice cosmetic acupuncture a little differently.

At Well Collab Acupuncture in Ossining, NY, facial acupuncture combines facial and body acupuncture with gua sha, low-frequency facial cupping, therapeutic massage, and structural work. The goal is to support circulation, movement, facial tone and definition, while also paying attention to the very real person attached to the face.

Because yes: you can want to look fantastic.

You can want more lift. Less puffiness. A jaw that doesn't feel like it's been clenching since 2009. You can care about how your face is changing as you age. You can look in the mirror after a treatment and think, Oh, there I am.

None of that requires treating your face like a problem.

Our cosmetic acupuncture work is one clinical expression of Facial Re:Cognition, the larger body of work at Well Collab concerned with the face, beauty, aging, care, the Five Elements, and what it means to remain recognizable to yourself while being a living person who necessarily changes.

How we practice cosmetic acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture — sometimes called facial acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture — uses acupuncture on the face and body as part of a treatment focused on the face.

My approach developed partly because conventional facial acupuncture protocols never made complete sense for my own body (hi, it’s me, Chryssa: this is my studio!). As someone who experiences migraines, I wanted fewer needles in the face, more attention to the whole system, and significantly more hands-on work.

So that's how we do it here.

Depending on the treatment, that can mean facial and full-body acupuncture, gua sha, low-frequency facial cupping, therapeutic massage, scalp work, and attention to the neck and jaw.

We’re interested in visible changes, certainly. But your face isn't an isolated surface, so we don't treat it like one.

Which facial should I book?

If you want cosmetic or facial acupuncture, choose the Feminist Facial or Brain Drain™.

Choose the Feminist Facial when your primary interest is your face: its appearance, structure, tension, movement, circulation, or simply giving it some very good attention.

Choose Brain Drain™ when you want the facial work but your experience also feels distinctly head-y: cognitive fatigue, brain fog, scalp tension, or a desire for more extensive work around the head.

If you don't want acupuncture or want a shorter maintenance treatment, choose the Feminist Dust Off for primarily facial work or Brain Wash for face + scalp.

And if what you're looking for isn't merely a facial — if you're interested in learning to work with your own face, thinking differently about beauty and aging, or exploring the Five Element philosophy underneath this work — that's when you want to dive deeper into the Facial Re:Cognition ecosystem.

Feminist Facial

75 min

facial + body acupuncture · gua sha · cupping · massage

The Feminist Facial is our signature cosmetic acupuncture treatment.

It combines carefully selected facial acupuncture with full-body acupuncture, facial gua sha, low-frequency facial cupping, and therapeutic massage for a treatment that is both structurally focused and deeply relaxing.

Explore the Feminist Facial

People come in wanting support for things like facial tension, puffiness, circulation, changes in tone and definition, and the general experience of looking tired when they'd prefer not to.

But the “Feminist” part matters, too.

This treatment was built around the idea that caring how you look does not require believing aging is a disease, wrinkles are moral failures, or your face should remain unchanged by having lived in it.

You are allowed to care for your face without declaring war on it.

Our Facials

There are four facial treatments at Well Collab: two full-length treatments that include acupuncture, and two shorter, needle-free treatments for maintenance, hands-on work, or the days when you simply do not have 75–90 minutes to devote to your face.

Feminist Dust Off

30 Min

no needles · gua sha · cupping · massage

The Feminist Dust Off is the Feminist Facial's little sister.

No acupuncture. No full-body treatment. Just a concentrated 30 minutes of the hands-on work from the Feminist Facial: facial gua sha, low-frequency cupping, and therapeutic massage.

It's useful between full Feminist Facials, when you want focused facial maintenance, before an event, or whenever you want somebody else to do the work for a minute.

Brain Drain™

90 min

facial + body acupuncture · facial work · scalp work · cognitive care

Brain Drain™ takes the facial acupuncture foundation of the Feminist Facial and goes further into the head.

It includes cosmetic facial acupuncture and hands-on facial work alongside additional attention to the scalp and acupuncture selected with cognitive concerns in mind.

Explore Brain Drain™

It's designed for the person whose face and brain appear to have been attending the same extremely long meeting.

If you're interested in the cosmetic and structural benefits of facial acupuncture but you're also dealing with brain fog, cognitive fatigue, head and scalp tension, or simply the sense that your entire head needs attention, start here.

Brain Wash

45 min

no needles · gua sha · cupping · massage · scalp work

Brain Wash is Brain Drain's smaller, needle-free counterpart.

It keeps the facial gua sha, cupping, therapeutic massage, and scalp work while skipping acupuncture and the longer treatment time.

Choose it when you want concentrated hands-on attention to your face and scalp, between longer treatments, or because today you simply want someone to work on your head without turning it into a whole thing.
